Questions about paver pool decks
Are pavers slippery around a pool?
Laid on a compacted, graded base and edged properly, a paver deck stays flat and even, and we choose paver textures suited to wet, barefoot areas so the surface is more sure-footed than a smooth slab.
My concrete pool deck is cracked — can you replace it?
Yes. We tear out cracked or sunken concrete decking, rebuild the base to fix the drainage underneath, and lay a paver surface that flexes with ground movement instead of cracking along one line.
What is coping and do I need it?
Coping is the capping course along the pool's edge. It gives a clean, comfortable border between water and deck and a rounded edge that's easier on hands and feet as you get in and out.
Do pavers get hot in the sun?
Any surface warms in direct sun, but paver colour and finish make a real difference underfoot. We'll walk through cooler, lighter options for a deck you use barefoot.
